Osteopath
Osteopathy (practice by an Osteopath) is an approach to healthcare that emphasizes the role of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease. It is practiced in the United Kingdom, the rest of the European Union, Israel, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Osteopathy and Osteopathic medicine are often used interchangeably, some would use osteopathic medicine to describe American osteopathy’ and use osteopathy to descurbe4 the restricted scope form of practice in other jurisdictions. In most countries, osteopathy has been considered a form of complementary medicine emphasizing holistic approach and the skilled use of range of manual and physical treatment interventions in the prevention and treatment of decease. In practice, this most commonly relates to musculoskeletal problems such as back and neck pain. Osteopathic principles teach that treatment of the musculoskeletal system (bones, muscles, ad joints) facilitates the recuperative powers of the body.
Physiotherapy:
A science based practice that treats injury and disease by external physical methods of reducing pain and restoring normal body movement and function. Treatment includes therapeutic exercise and treatment modalities.
Manipulative Physiotherapy:
Manipulative physiotherapy involves more precise clinical examination to return problem areas to full function or to stop deterioration. Treatment can include correction of misalignments, joint and soft tissue manipulation.
